LOS GATOS, Calif. , May, 2008 – Photographer Joseph Sargent’s favorite subjects are the ones least likely to sit still long enough for him to take his time with obtaining a good shot. They also tend to shed all over his studio. But for Sargent, his Distinctive Dogs portraits "DistinctiveDogPortraits.com" are the most rewarding part of his business--so much so that he is calling for people with canine companions to submit their true stories for possible inclusion in his upcoming book.

Tentatively titled You’ve Got to Get a Dog, the book will feature the best of the stories Sargent receives, along with a professional portrait of each dog. Stories should illustrate how having a dog companion has enriched the person’s life; Sargent will choose which tales--and tails--to be included for publication.

"Dogs have an amazing and profound ability to sense and respond to our needs and emotions," Sargent explained. Sargent’s clients agree, praising the photographer’s ability to bring their dogs’ distinctive physical and emotional characteristics to life on film.
